"...On Shuffle"

Thump.

It was terror knocking at the door.

He flips the deadbolt over and swings the door open like it wasn't even there. The skies were on illustrated so perfectly in a detailed mosaic of Garnet, Ruby, Topaz & Diamond. The heaven's were indeed on fire, engulfed in searing annoy embodied. Yet...not a soul felt heat, hate, loss or fear. In place of all these natural elements were instead emphatic realizations of love, nurturing, comfort & completion.

There. There he pointed at what seemed unreal, or to the outside observer, invisible. His left hand steady with extended an extended finger points to a figure. At first so petite it was hidden but now, the tiny shard, different from all the others, stood separate & shone more brightly than the entirety of fence of flames in the background.

 A gowned body pushes further from the glowing ball like a round from an M134. At first seeming to coast like dust in a vacuum, her tiny light flickered...at first. In an instant her's was a glow of Sapphire, as is she had become an entire ocean, hurtling toward a world on fire, ready to put it out despite herself. He watched her speed up and engage him directly.

Thump.

SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHH.

There she was.

Just kind of hovering in place, staring at him with such soft eyes. His lips parted to speak, what at the moment he didn't know and...

Her tiny hand is on his face like it never left. It moves over the left side of his beard, down his cheek and takes a quick turn and a single, meek finger stands alone over his mouth and shushes him before he has that split second to know what he even wants to say. His eyes meet hers, heavy with uncertainty, doubt and regret. Her's meet his with love, joy & innocence.

Thump.

Time to get up...

His feet quietly shuffle toward the door.

Wallet. Keys. Cell-phone. Glasses. He chuckles for a second as he makes his way to the car, shutting the door to the house behind him, a quick click of the lock and the next sound is the car door closing.
